Enrolling Your Five Year Old
This can be done at any time, but it is helpful for Ministry Funding if it occurs sometime around your child’s 4th birthday. At this time you will be asked to give the name of the Pre-School Centre or Kindergarten you child is currently attending, so our New Entrant teacher, Mrs Maher, can visit your child in an environment that is familiar to them.
Children are eligible to start school on their 5th birthday. On the morning of that day, at around 8.45am, you will need to bring your child’s birth certificate and their completed Enrolment and Health forms, which can be collected from the school office prior to the starting date.
Children also need to bring a school bag, lunch drink and a named coat if applicable. The school will provide you with a stationery list and you may purchase these items from a shop of your choice. Please check the Uniform section of this website
for information about purchasing the Ascot school uniform (which
is compulsory throughout the school).
Pre-Entry Visits
Children have two pre-entry visits. These occur in the two weeks before they start school, either on a Wednesday or Thursday morning. The first visit is from 9am-10am. A parent/caregiver is to accompany the child. The second visit is from 9am-1pm. For this visit the child will require morning tea and lunch.
