On Wednesday 23 September every class took part in The Skip-A-Thon. Two classes went at time and each class went with their buddy class. Between those classes everyone was split into groups to go to the different stations.
There were 5 stations all with different activities to do with skipping. Some of the stations were buddy skipping, skipping with hula hoops and long ropes. Each group had a mixture of Juniors and Seniors from the two different classes. There was music playing and after every couple of songs the groups switched stations and moved on to the next one.
It was for a good cause because almost everyone that took part in The Skip-A-Thon helped raise money by getting sponsors. All money raised went to the Heart Foundation. Overall everyone had lots of fun and really enjoyed themselves!

Disco Dancing In Room 7
It's almost 10:00 in Room 7 the kids are starting to do Jump Jam. The kids like the Hamster dance. Jump Jam is exercise and dancing while having fun. Even the teacher Miss Fairburn got involved in the Jump Jam. A morning of Jump Jam will help to keep the students fit but also having fun.
Room 3's New Chickens
In Room 3 Miss Marshall and her students are hatching chickens! They have 10 eggs in the incubator waiting to hatch. The students expect them to hatch on the 23rd of September and they have started hatching them 9 days ago on Wednesday 2nd of September.
We interviewed Maia, Oliver and River. They are really excited about the new additions to the class and they think it will be really fun. They hope that the chicks will be really cute and the feathers will be really fluffy. Miss Marshall decided to get the chicks in class for the kids to learn about for this term’s inquiry which is ‘Living Things.’
Maia thinks it would be really fun if they could take turns at bringing the chicks home and taking care of them. When we asked her about cleaning up after them she decided maybe taking them home wasn’t such a good idea. Overall Room 3 are really excited for the new arrivals and we will update you when they have hatched.

Radical Reading In Room 3
Room 3 is one of the 5 year old classes and last Friday they were having lots of fun while the teacher Miss Marshall was reading a book! Room 3 was the new entrance class in term 1 & 2. While the students in Room 3 where patient they were quiet and NOT running around the class. They were also listening and relaxing on cushions.
The students in Room 3 on a Friday are busy. Relaxing is normal for them when Miss Marshall is reading a book out to Room 3.

10x10 Times Tables
For the last 2 terms Room 10 have been doing the math 10 x 10 times tables super fast, but the time limit is only 5 minutes. Sometimes Room 10 does 12 x 12 times tables with the same time limit.
They do the 10x10 times tables 5 times a week, right before the roll. The whole idea for this exercise is to train the brain to do instant recall for math questions.
